How can I tell if something is wrong with my OneTouch III drive?
The Maxtor OneTouch Manager provides a Diagnostic that when used, can check the overall health of your OneTouch III drive. The following are the steps necessary to perform Diagnostics on your OneTouch III drive:
- Double-click on the Maxtor OneTouch Manager icon on your Windows Desktop. This will launch the Onetouch Manager application.
If this icon has been removed from the desktop, click Start > Programs (All Program for Windows XP) > Maxtor > OneTouch > Maxtor OneTouch!" Manager
- From the OneTouch Manager's main screen, select the OneTouch III drive you wish to diagnose.
- Click on the Run Diagnostics button.
- The Run Diagnostics window appears. Click on the Test button.
- A second Run Diagnostics window appears and a status bar displays showing the progress of the test. Upon completion, a message appears showing, "Test successful!" Click OK to return to the OneTouch Manager's main menu.
In the event that your OneTouch III does not pass the diagnostics, an error code will generate that can be used when contacting Seagate Support for Warranty Replacement Options.
